"How Difficult Can This Be?"

For kids with learning disabilities, the classroom can be an intimidating place. In this workshop, Richard D. Lavoie shows why.
This unique program allows viewers to experience the same frustration, anxiety and tension that children with learning disabilities face in their daily lives. Teachers, social workers, psychologists, parents and friends who have participated in Richard Lavoie's workshop reflect upon their experience and the way it changed their approach to L.D. children.

Other titles we have available include:

"Last One Picked, First One Picked On"

Playing with friends is a daily ritual for most children. But kids with learning disabilities are often isolated and rejected. Their problems making and keeping friends are compounded by their poor social skills. The challenges confronting learning disabled children in their lives both in and out of the classroom are examined.

"It's So Much Work to Be Your Friend: Helping the learning disabled child to find social success"

The lives of most children are filled with joy, laughter and their daily adventures with friends, classmates and teammates. Some children, however, seem unable to make these important connections with peers and, as a result, are often isolated and ignored. It is extraordinarily painful for parents and teachers to observe an isolated child as he waits for invitations that never come.

"It's So Much Work
to Be Your Friend" explores the causes and consequences of "social incompetence". Drawing on current research and thirty years of experience in residential schools, Richard Lavoie provides powerful strategies for teaching friendship skills in the classroom, on the homefront, and in the community.
